Definition English:   Diseases of the oculomotor nerve or nucleus that result in weakness or paralysis of the superior rectus, inferior rectus, medial rectus, inferior oblique, or levator palpebrae muscles, or impaired parasympathetic innervation to the pupil. (From Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p270)
Indexing Annotation English:   do not confuse X-ref OCULOMOTOR NERVE PALSY with oculomotor palsies caused by weakened 4th or 6th cranial nerves which are indexed: 4th= TROCHLEAR NERVE DISEASES and 6th= ABDUCENS NERVE DISEASES, if not specified use CRANIAL NERVE DISEASES; neopl: coord IM with CRANIAL NERVE NEOPLASMS (IM) + histol type of neopl (IM); do not confuse with OCULOMOTOR PARALYSIS see OPHTHALMOPLEGIA
